I’m Jason Ortitay, and for the last 3 years, I’ve had the honor and privilege of serving as your State Representative in the 46th District.
I grew up in the small town of Avella in Washington County. My mom and dad were hard workers; my mom worked 3 jobs at once to help our family make ends meet. My parents taught me the value of hard work, and because of them, I was able to become a first-generation college student, earning a BA from Robert Morris University and an MBA from Stetson University, all by the age of 21.
Once out of school, I worked at PNC Bank in retail and Treasury Management. It was always my dream to follow in my grandparents’ footsteps, Italian immigrants who moved to the US and yearned to start their own businesses, fulfilling their American dream. With their legacy in mind, 5 years ago, I started Jason’s Cheesecake Company, which is operated out of my grandfather’s old converted gas station. Through my business, I have sought to help schools and non-profits raise money. Jason’s Cheesecake Company has helped raise around $100k for charities and organizations in our community.
While I love the work my company does within the community, I wanted to serve the people of our region in an additional capacity. I decided to run for State Representative in the 46th District. In an historic victory, I was elected, and since in office, I have had the privilege of serving as the youngest member on the House Appropriations Committee, fought for tax reform and family-sustaining jobs, and worked to improve our education system. I also met my strong and supportive wife, Amanda – got married, and bought a house in Cecil Township, a place we are happy to call home.
I’m just a kid from a small town, right here in Western PA, who wants to bring the American dream truly back to our region. And I know, with your help, we can make this goal a reality.
